The Style Sum is a blog promoting menswear in the Midwest. I believe the details matter, and style is a SUM of the person’s dress, how they portray themselves, and their actions. With The Style Sum I want to provide menswear inspiration to help guys step their SUM up.
About Me
I’m a Senior at Lake Forest College studying Computer Science and Digital Design. I’m also a varsity athlete as one of the captains on the men’s swim and dive team. I started this blog as a project for one of my digital design courses after finding an increasing interest in menswear and men’s style.
As a college student, my budget is very limited. You will find me featuring many thrifted/second-hand pieces. I say about 90% of my closet was bought second-hand, maybe 10% is new. That’s the great news though, I have discovered style doesn’t have to be ultra expensive. Once I started knowing what to look for, I could find items in my budget that fit into my personal style. I believe anyone else can do the same.
As a continuation of my style journey I’m looking to showcase my personal style progression as well as feature other stylish individuals. What you get is some style inspiration from a mix of classic menswear with personal styling and some twists with modern fashion.
