“You can pretty much find me in jeans and a basic t-shirt any day of the week. If I want to class it up, I’ll throw on a tie or a sweater but nothing outrageous. I love the basics and I’d rather be comfortable than constantly having to fidget with something.”

Kelly talks about how his tastes in clothing changed after joining a band in high school.
“I was skinnier and liked how slimmer fitting clothes looked on me, as opposed to those monstrous baggy jeans and sweatshirts. That’s how the majority of people dressed that I was around in the music scene. Sure enough, that’s what has become trendy today so I’m glad those excessively long and loose clothes went by the wayside.”

As far as the cold weather hitting us in the Midwest, Kelly doesn’t really change up his wardrobe too much. He keeps it casual but functional for the weather.
“I’ll wear boots or dress shoes and leave my converse behind while it’s wet out; throw on a scarf and jacket to stay warm while I’m outside. I kind of stick to what works for me without trying to be something I’m not. I stick to the basics, make sure I personally look presentable and groomed, and then my clothes are just an added extension of my personality….dull. Just kidding!”

When shopping, Kelly says he buys a lot of cheap basics on impulse. When it comes to quality items, he invests more money and consideration.
